Hot Rolled Coil
Hot-Rolled has been rolled at increasing temperature from a cast steel slab more than two inches thick into steel coil as thin as 1/16 inches thick. Because the steel is rolled hot, also the reduction from slab to coil is good, the coil surfaces are noticeably rough and slightly oxidized. It is suggestion for precision thickness Hot Rolled Strip and high formability.

Hot-rolled coil tends to have a scaly finish which could be removed by pickling, grinding, or sand-blasting. This steel is actually normalized, meaning free from internal stresses that can arise from quenching or work-hardening processes, also it is allowed to cool at room temperature.
